First published 1932 by Chatto & Windus, this copy is A NEW IMPRESSION, published 1935. SIGNED in full by the author in black ink on laid-in sheet ("Aldous Huxley"). In 1999, the Modern Library ranked Brave New World fifth on its list of the 100 Best English- Language novels of the 20th Century. Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" is a parody on the Utopian novels of the day, marking one of the first Dystopian views of the the future, with frightening technology, changes to society and the prospect of losing individuality. Red titling and design very well preserved. Some mottling to the black cloth boards - most visible at the front right edge and rear left edge.
The book is in very good minus condition. Moderate wear, creasing and soiling to the entirety of the jacket. Large portion of lower spine and lower left front panel missing. Original dust jacket is in fair condition. Book measures approximately 8" x 5.75", with 311 numbered pages. Signed by the author Aldous Huxley on the front pastedown. Early reprint published by The Sun Dial Press in 1932.
